Ten years ago today I was granted a second chance at life. This sums it all up.

  1. Excellant video! Talk about making "friends in strange places". Because of a meningioma, I've made many new friends. Today, I am a "survivor" with a pupose. To help raise lots of moey for research and to eradicate the comment "It's JUST a meningioma". Benign tumors destroy lives and KILL if not detected. This being said, I must ask "How can this be considered benign"?

  5. Excellent video Liz!

It's a real tribute to all of us MM's in our battles...and reminds us that the word Benign...should continue to make us angry. More has to be done to bring awareness...and you are doing a fantastic job to that end.

I am so proud to be a Meningioma Momma!

  7. Very interesting video and narratives and WOW ! wasn't that my picture.

The word 'benign' ought not be associated with meningioma due to its profound effects on those diagnosed with M.

I am flattered and proud you included my photo in your video.

  8. Congratulations on being 12 years meningioma-free Jackie! I'll try to catch you. I'm the one who is proud after you shared your picture with me. Let's eliminate benign.

  9. That is an awesome video. I remember what they told me when I was first diagnosed, "If you have to get a brain tumor, this is the one to get". They really underestimate what these things can do to you.

  10. Thanks so much! I couldn't agree more with your statement--there isn't any type of brain tumor one should feel relieved to get. Yes, meningiomas may be benign pathology-wise, but there is nothing benign about our quality of lives post-treatment.

  12. Your video is so inspiring! You and my family encourage me everyday to continue trekking on this planet. I was under the knife "twice" in October 2003 (left frontal meningioma). I now have another M on the right side. Like you, had a second chance!
